This website focuses on various approaches to explore phenomena of relations between numbers, forms and tones. Projects done by the author are documented, some materials are made available. Some of them are completed, others still in a state of developement. Nevertheless, all the files have been tested and should be used under the set conditions. Any comments, suggestions, feedback are welcome.

Text- and multimedia files apply custom formats. The execution of programs in many cases requires on the one hand more specified extensions and on the other appropriate environments, which however are free available for most operating systems:

Java - all applets need an actual and activated Javaversion (turn on Java functions in your browser preferences).

JSyn - sound-applets in addition require the Java extension JSyn (installation JSyn-PlugIn). - Not least for reasons of aesthetics the applets are laid out for maximized window display. Therefore printing out descriptions of the applets in advance is recommended. Depending on particular browsers representations of graphical elements may lead to different results. Loading these applets can take some time according to the actual internet connection.

Max/MSP - to execute files, that have been generated under the popular commercial programming environment Max/MSP, cycling74 provides a free player (Download Max/MSP Runtime). Besides custom audio hardware some patches are in need of an appropriate midi setup.

Pure Data (pd) - the Max/MSP related programming environment is free for all platforms as Open Source Software (Download pd). Especially important here is GEM ("Graphical Environment for Multimedia" - Download) for conversion of sound to animations!

SuperCollider - Open Source Software (Download)

Csound - the classical language of soundsynthesis (Open Source Software at cSounds)
